Hummingbird Hardware

This activity is students’ first classroom exposure to the micro:bit and the hummingbird robotics kit. In this unit, students are asked to design, program, redesign, and reprogram robots to act as prey. Students must design robots to detect and avoid contact with a stationary predator. Later, students redesign and reprogram robots to do the same based on a change in the size and shape of an “newly evolved” predator.
