Ag Power - Troubleshooting Stators
Students will troubleshoot electrical components in small engines by testing stator conductivity using multimeters. This hands-on activity teaches diagnostic skills needed for engine repair. Students will test four stator components (one deliberately disabled) following video demonstration procedures, applying their knowledge of Ohm's law and electrical conductivity. This lesson provides practical experience for students interested in careers as automotive, diesel, or small engine repair technicians.
Core Content: Career and Technical Education, Agriculture
Grade Levels: 9-12
Time Required: One 60-minute class period
ME Career Connection: Performing diagnostic tests on the engine makes a student more proficient in becoming a technician in the fields of auto, diesel, and small engine repair.
